FAQ

top 10 questions answered

1. What is the Butterfly Project?
The Butterfly Project is a non-profit community for beauty and lifestyle bloggers in Malaysia to join. It is an exclusive club in short for bloggers. To know more about our community click here.

2. Who can join?
Anyone who is an active beauty and lifestyle blogger, YouTuber or influencer can join this community and start registering for projects or activities to participate in.

3. How do I become a member?

We hope you could be an official member by registering here and show off your community badge on your blog. Be sociable and engaged in discussions on our FB wall. It's how we get to know each other.

4. Who's the boss here?
This community is founded by a veteran beauty and lifestyle blogger, Tammy Lim at www.plusizekitten.com. She's nicknamed the Mamasan but fellow butterflies.

5. I'm new to blogging, can I still join?
You can join but approval for projects may not happen as you're too new. We would encourage you to stay updated with our community on FB because there may be gatherings, workshops or caterpillar programs for you to join. Caterpillar means "newborn" or "new" to the community.

Most projects require you to be an active, long-time blogger because it would mean you have gone through the passage right of way to become a full-fledged blogger.  It also helps to know that you are in this for the long term, and not just started a blog to start gaining "freebies". You must first be trusted, and be passionate about what you're blogging about. Talented members will be noticed right away and maybe given opportunities to participate in projects.

We advise for a min. of 6 months of a consistent, relevant content on your blog/channel to be selected for reviews.

6. How do I join projects?
Stalk our FB community walls like an eagle and lookout for ways to sign-up for a project, event, or activity. If you're suitable, your sign-up would be accepted and you'll receive an update from Butterfly Project.

7. I am in trouble. I need help!
Our founder has 6 years of experience working at a law firm and has been around the blogosphere for nearly 10 years. If you have an urgent need to speak to her, please add her on FB and message her in private to talk.

8. What happens when I repeatedly hand in projects late or cancel on events?
We will stop inviting you to participate in projects and events until you have properly manage your time. For repeated offenders, they will be blacklisted.

9. I would like to volunteer to help the community!
We are always looking for volunteers to help us manage events, projects or be on the creative team (photography, videographer). If you feel you can contribute to the community, give us a hola.

10. Why are all the events based in Kuala Lumpur or Klang Valley?
Because we are based here and we do not have enough numbers out of Klang Valley to organize an event. In the past, we have organised events and even meet ups in Penang and Johor Bahru. We will continue to do offline projects that would benefit bloggers from all over Malaysia - including East Malaysia.
